Question UPS Online Assessment 03/30

I completed the UPS online assessment on 3/31. However, I have been invited to an interview with World Airways. Needless to say I would rather have the job with UPS, but am aware UPS wants the heavy pond crossing experience. The job at World requires a two year training contract prorated, starting at around $40,000. Needless to say the experience at World would be invaluable and would look good on a resume.

But how certain is eventually getting an interview with UPS, since I already have completed the online psych eval? Is it worth a gamble to go to World?

Is anyone else who completed the 03/30 online assessment, or prior, still waiting for a call from UPS?

If you got this far with UPS, you are "qualified" to be interviewed and work for us. I would not think anything else necessary. The overwater quals are good, but we are starting some folks that do not have that experience in the June 4 class. (They will be domestic DC-8 and A-300 F/O's)
On the flip side, I would go to World, unless you are content to remain where you are and wait it out, because you cannot wait on UPS forever. I know absolutely nothing about the World training contract. I would ask World pilots on a seperate thread perhaps. My understanding is that generally they are unenforceable, but I am not a lawyer, and worse, did not sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Good Luck!

I would at least interview with World. There's no guarantee you'll get hired at either place but best case, consider it interview practice for UPS. What's your background/current status?

They don't want to bring you in for an interview if you are not serious. I wouldn't got to the interview if you're only testing the water. I'm in the same boat. It's a 50% pay cut for me, but it will open a lot of doors down the road.

I would interview at World. Don't ever count on something that might happen with your career, you gotta cover your bases.

Got another friend in the pipe that filled out the online assessment well over a month ago, and she still has not heard a word.

Is it pretty typical to wait that long? Just wondering if it is even possible to 'bust' that assessment?

But if it doesn't happen, I'd probably be better off staying where I'm at.

Default Bust

Brown,

It's possible to bust it (I did in Jan) but your bud will know ASAP. Best of luck to all!

Anyone care to explain what is on this "assessment"? Technical, personality? both?

Also, anyone get invited to do this from the 2007 app yet? Seems like everything happening is still from the 2006 app, no?

Nothing is happening anymore from the 2006 apps. They are obsolete.
