Default Armed Forces Thank You

Just a note to say THANK YOU to all the people, past and present, who have served this Country. Especally today at my family's get-together we will raise a glass and say a prayer for you and your families. In our home we do not forget your sacrifice for us and our country.

I posted this on another board. Brian was a UPT classmate of mine and US Air pilot. Memorial Day has always been special to me. As an AF pilot, I knew about the "what could" happen and also knew of a lot of guys behind me who made the sacrifice. One of my most enjoyable missions as an F15 driver was flying over some of the WWII cemetaries for Memorial Day Fly-bys. I never took the holiday for granted. However, 2 years ago, the price of the Freedom was driven home even more when my UPT classmate was killed on 30 May, 2005. He left a wife and 3 great kids.

He's one of thousands who've made the ultimate sacrifice. He's nobody special, yet someone very special. I knew him. He was an airline pilot too--like most of us.

Take nothing away from the men and women of our armed forces, but to echo the above posts on Memorial Day..thanks to the fallen heros and their survivors for their sacrifice to perserve our freedom, which I for one humbly enjoy but often take for granted.
