Default Home Base, Time Off...

Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum, thanks in advance to any replies.
I would like to put together a list of airlines who allow their
pilots to be based in their choice of city, meaning do they
buy you a ticket to go to work?
Also, which ones give you a 10-13 day OFF block with no or
minimum reserve at some place you don't want to be.
Preferable Intl., Cargo, B747...or anybody who just meets
this profile.

You wanted to work for a major airline........DAL,UAL,NWA,AA, the only problem is that you are about 10 years to late.

Express. Net airlines is home based (they buy you a ticket to go to work) and have a 16 day on 12 day off schedule. I think Atlas does too.

Wrong, my friend. I did work for AA and never had more than a 5 day off block.
As a matter of fact my previous employer Kitty Hawk had better pay and schedule than the big, bad and evil AMR Corp.

What I am talking about is getting all or most of your days off in one batch, not spread out over the month. Rest such as pay and logo on the airplane does not matter.

This is not true. You can get 17on/13-14 off if you live near the base KYIP. Other wise they will make you come out a day early to position for day one and bring you home a day late. This means 19 days on and 11/12 off. Also all training is done on days off with no exrta pay unless you break min pay gaurentee which dosent happen very often unless you are on the A-list.

Try Focus in Miami. Foucs is driving classic 747s. Express.Net is another one to look at. (MCO) A300 and 72s

My Bad, I didn't know that you could not fly one long trip at AMR. I did understand that you wanted you days off in one batch though. At Northwest, I used to bid one 12 day trip and be finished for the month . If I wanted a lot of time off, I would work the beginning of one month and the last 12 days of the next month. That would only work on the 747 patterns in Asia. The domestic patterns don't allow flying all your trips together due to 30 in 7 rules.
