Same here!

I was told by one guy in block 5 that only 20 or so guys were really up in arms and mad at the union, and that majority of the union members "get it" now. Its really only about 20 of us on the boards that are still "angry" and frustrated. Am I to understand you 2 guys, me, and seventeen others are the only guys still gritting our teeth?

FWIW...I'm not sure a knee-jerk shoot the move package down is the best policy. However--I'm VERY interested in why some of you guys feel that way. Care to elaborate?

Pretty poor and short sighted attitude I must say.

I can see you are frustrated with the MEC.
(actually you should be mad at your Senators and Congress and Presidential Administration for they were the ones pushing the change to Age 60 anyway,,,,,,but I digress)

You should at least look at any impending LOA sent to you.
If it is a GAIN, boy you will really show em if you vote this down.

Remember that the Company doesn'tneed an LOA to open 2 new FDAs!

The current contract already has the language allowing them to do so.

They do want Experienced crews in FDA's and want to keep folks from moving back after a year to a minimum.............which is why they are talking with the Union.

So if we get an LOA which has gains the current contract does not have..............go ahead and Make your point by voting NO................................................ .................................................. .....and the company will open up the domciles anyway with the current language. That will sure show em

I haven't flown with a single F/O who isn't ****ed at this. The union can spin there collective a$$es off and it doesn't change a thing. "We got hate mail from 2000 pilots which means the other 3000 love us!" A pilot-to pilot volunteer told me they had a 3 hour teleconference with the boys in the Ivory Tower so that they would all be on the same page and be able to answer all questions with the same canned B.S. we've been getting for weeks. Kinda like the last missive from the Comm Chairman, "we have to be unified, and to show our commitment to unity, the MEC today voted unanimously to remove the knife we shoved in your back when you weren't looking". ...At a future undisclosed date....but we really mean it! ( Perhaps I paraphrased his comments a wee bit?)

I'm not a single FO, but I am a married FO who isn't pxxxed at this.

I certainly don't like the fact that the FAA or Congress is taking action on the Age 60 issue. But, I do think I am realistic enough to figure out when a proposed Senate Bill has 26 sponsors this year, when in the past that it only had a handful, that change is in the wind.....whether I like it or not is immaterial.

And, since I believe change is in the wind, I wanted my union, my MEC, to change its posture on this issue and attempt to mitigate any adverse effects it will have on my career.
A position that the majority of my voting peers desired.

That's right it's going to happen anyway...lets poll us and see who gives up and wants to be part of the solution. Give me a break...I've heard all this before. It's going to happen so lets not fight it and be part of the solution instead. Lets face it, it's been decided! YOU are not part of the solution and never were! You gave up when when the fox entered the hen house. Important things in life are worth fighting for. Career enhancements are worth fighting for. To think that any of us will have a say in this is a joke--you say so yourself with the above quote. Until the MEC and Block Reps step down for not representing the majority--my vote is NO!

Default What!!!!!!!!!!

Count me in as part of the PO'd group, but voting down a LOA without reviewing it is asinine. Voting no just because you disagree with the MC/MEC's action(I do strongly as well) only sends the unintended message to ALPA that you are not confident in the NC and to the company that you are divided. These people will not just resign folks, they have to be removed either by recall or as their terms expire-and even then the campaign to accomplish such must be strong. Voting down a LOA to send a message to the MEC is amateur hour unionism that has zero chance of getting the desired effect.
