June 15th Bid???
#6
I'm out of the hub these days...but I did get a second hand rumor that foreign domiciles are a mess, the 757 is slowing down, the age 60 thing has thrown in a lot of questions--so don't expect a major bid for a while.
Hope I'm wrong. I've never had a good handle of bid timing--so take my shot as a pure shot in dark...

foreign domiciles
Albie...
Friend of mine has been selected (volunteered?) for a chief pilot job in Paris. Is that going to be your domicile in Europe? He is setting up for a 3-5 yr stay there and is already getting rid of his college season tix. If he is indicative of the guys that are selected for chief pilots, you guys have a huge quality spread advantage over ups.
We wish him good luck and hope to visit next summer.

I was told by a member of the nego. committee the company wants a bid by July 15th. They are trying to get the details of the move package ironed out for CDG and HKG so this bid can come out. The good thing (or problem) is we as members get to vote on this package. The nego. committee is worried the membership is going to vote it down without even looking at it due to recent events. I know my vote already and no matter how much our MEC leadership tries to change my opinion, I'm taking a negative view from here on out. I know the MEC doesn't care about my opinions so why should I care about theirs.
