Hawaiian Freighters starting up Amazon Cargo
Has any one here in the cargo world heard anything about Hawaiian Airlines being awarded an A330 contract for freighters? Are there any other domestic A330 carriers already doing flying for them? Just curious as frontline at HAL are buzzing about it.

Amazon is currently utilizing at least four 767s on flights between the mainland and the islands. (That is based on what I see live right this moment. There could be more.)
Does Hawaiian currently have A330 freighters available to them? It's possible that as Amazon looks to continue expanding its operations, it will look to other vendors who have cargo capacity available now vs. waiting for their own purchased or leased aircraft to go through conversion.

To the best of my knowledge, Amazon is not using any A330s yet. The A330 is where the ACMI cargo carriers are probably going as the supply of 767s available for conversion dries up.

The ATI guys are not going to be too upset. Amazon has been good to a lot of folks there, with pretty quick paths to CA for those who wanted. < 2 years in some cases I think? Someone can correct me. Before Amazon and their new deal ABX had folks sitting First Officer it seemed like forever.

Read the ATSG investor notes, there’s talk there about 330 conversions in the pipeline. I also believe National or Kalitta had an advert for 330 crew. I believe any of these places or other cargo companies would be a go-to over a change resistant leisure airline based in Hawaii.

Light Attrition aside, hiring 24/month per class through year's end could be in reference to 787 deliveries, but we all know where that stands...Good luck to you at United.

Disagree with your second bit. I saw the ATSG bit too, but that was planned from at least 2021. The move with Hawaiian was in reference to buzz since YTD. Sun Country lost out a bid this year on 330 flying, which coincidently is when the buzz starting at HAL as you know. The ATSG thing possibly getting split or falling through with Amazon or something new althogether. Kalitta and National is about as off radar as HAL at the moment.
