How is the company for an international commuter ? (Europe to be specific)
How is their training philosophy? Do they have AQP?

Quick question for upcoming classes.

When is the new contract supposed to go into effect? Will per diem be paid during training with the new contract? Do people keep airline points for travel to work with the home basing? Also, is training typically straight through or are folks sent home for small gaps say before sim or something?

Thanks for the quick informative responses in the past. Much appreciated.

August 2023 it takes effect. You get full pay during training. You keep airline points and hotel points. Training is about 3 months total time start to finish. You might get sent home 2-4 weeks during your training.

Pay rates will be implemented on day of signing. Which if passed will be June 26. As far as full implementation of all the changes, we haven’t seen the timeline yet.

Default Direct entry captains

How does the pilot group feel about the direct entry captains? I was told by HR when I did the phone call that I meet the minimums for Direct entry Captain. I am currently E175 captain. How is the training process with that?

Just wondering 💭 before I make a decision to do the interview as they are not doing FO classes until October.

Thank you

There is a very large difference captaining a Boeing around the ACMI world and flying for a regional in a very controlled, sterile environment. The better question is; Are you ready to fly a clapped out freighter, with minimal support, between two international destinations you or your FO have never been to? Others have made that leap with varying degrees of success. Your success will depend solely on you.

I’ve seen people do it no issues ! Clapped out planes ? They have brand new 767F LDS and more on the way ! Study up and be prepared and you won’t have issues.

New or not, working around active volcanos and a radar screen that's all red and magenta going into Bogota at night with vectors through the worst of it is not the same as flying a regional into Cleveland. Crossing Condorcocha at 18,000 on the downwind into Quito at night with a volcano nearby and a riot at the airfield, surrounded by mountains, weather, unhelpful ATC, and a case of the runs,, isn't quite like doing the ILS to 27C in Chicago.

Clapped out airplanes or not, one ain't in Kansas, any more.

Guys it’s not about money, should do little research what’s their schedule like. Amerjet is for someone who doesn’t have a family, it’s for someone who is single . Mostly you fly at night and day time sleeping. Schedule are horrible and so does training. So many pilots left Amerijet for Majors and Legacy, with the new contact they been calling all the pilots to come back offering their longevity but no one is going back. Being said all this …Amerijet is a place to build heavy times and leave that’s what most of the people did. All the best.
