FDX MD-11 model - where to buy?

I need a couple MD-11 models for gifts (aviation buffs). Does anyone know where to get a decent MD-11 model? Where is the model store in Subic? I know Seoul has some, but they are the really big ones (and somewhat expensive). I'm looking for a smaller one (I'm guessing 12" or so).

Thanks.:)

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but they have some models here:

The MD-11 (Item 000149), mid-way down looks like a 1/200 scale, and that is a good deal for under $12.00. I've paid $20.00 for that scale of a model at the company store before.

The A300 model directly above it looks suspicious though.

I wish I could give you more accurate information for SFS but I'll give it a stab.

Leave hotel and exit main gate into Olongapo. Pass mall structure on your right and take a right down the next street. I can't remember how many streets down it is but it is definitely a right turn. You can find the model vendors down that street. The last time I was there there were a few of them, peruse the goods and decide which ones you like best.

Once again, sorry I couldn't be more specific. I've got 51 hours there coming up so I'll try to get a more accurate position.

Cheers,
Phlyer

I agree with md11phlyer's directions. I believe it's about 3 blocks down, once you make the right turn off of the main road. His shop is on the right side of the street. If you don't see what you want, just ask, as he's got a bunch of them behind the hanging blanket. I've asked my son to look on the bottom of a desk nameplate that I had made for him, for the guys email address. Once I get it, I'll post it here. He's (not my son) very reliable, and is willing to either take cash, or Visa/MC and FedEx you your model(s). Overall it was a very convenient transaction, and I'm sure you'll be pleased. Or, you could google "custom made MD-11 models" and choose your vendor there.

Probably not what you're looking for but I absolutely love these guys:

If you're in MIA they offer a tour of their factory.....

One of the shops at the JLGA Market and Mall on Gordon Street in Olongapo is called Survival Arts, run by Greg Quiambao. The phone number is 011-0910-295-1759, and the E-mail address is, [email protected]. They can make any kind of aircraft or ship model, and their quality is very good. Prices depend on size, with most models under $100. Give 'em a call (only 2 cents/minute using Skype).

That's the one! He's great and very prompt. He sells lots of stuff made of wood, such as salad bowls and those very large spoons, forks, etc. And he ships FedEx.

In the Philippines, www.asianimportsinc.com . Anything you want ... customized how you want. And they do "details" that most other model companies wouldn't pay attention to.

I've bought four models from them and all of them were awesome.
