Actually, the ground transpo is on the clock. That's why they have to waive the 2 hr limitation from the current CBA. It will be paid like any other GT, :30 ch for every hour or part hour. It will also be counted in duty time.

OK, so you want to be a d@@k. Explain how to get a crew to CAN in under 2 hours, and not live in China proper.

Not to mention, the waiver to the 2 hr limit is in a section titled Surface transportation from Hong Kong to Guangzhou.

Good question. The CBA doesn't specify if that 2:30 CH limit is per occurence of GT or per pairing or whatever? A 3 to 3 1/2 hr ride to CAN would only get you 1:30 or 2 CH, so if it's per occurence, it won't matter. If it's per pairing, then the 2:30 CH max would have to be waived, also, as trips back and forth would be 3-4 CH.

Actually, this one section of the LOA is one of the few parts that makes sense. At least much more than the measly housing allowance and lack of COLA.

Actually, I was so busy reading the details that I missed the forest for the trees. Yes, it's under the section of the title mentioned, but I was wrapped around the waiver sentence that waives the limitation "...for the purposes of this LOA" versus specifying HKG to CAN. My bad.

That section still leaves a lot hanging out there. Where will you start your trip? Will it be like current FDA trips where the ground transportation starts at your house? What if the Captain lives in Tung Chung and the F/O lives on the Gold Coast? Does the F/O get picked up first, and ride for an extra 45 minutes? Does the GT portion of the trip start at the airport? Will they be able to find a single Chinese driver who can keep his foot steady on the accelerator? In what kind of vehicle will the crews be acquiring Asian Driver Happy Foot Induced Whiplash (A.D.H.F.I.W)? Morons like me want to know. Cuz I might bid it...you know...cuz I'm a moron....it would take one to do so at this point.
