ANC to go to 500 pilots.

All growth to be Europe and Asia.

DC8's gone by 2013

They are looking at bigger lift now to replace A380 order. 747-800's top of the list.

Every year it goes further out. It was supposed to be gone 5 years ago if they had stayed on track when I was hired <g> Is there something that forces retirement at 2013?
I don't really know what will put the 8's to bed. Usually, they go to Roswell when they get to expensive to fix at heavy check time. With 30+airframes, that will take awhile. It is last on the list to get the new EFB's though

Well, there is a reason UPS keeps them around, They Make Money! They are paid for, they have older, but relativley(sp) fuel efficient high bypass engines. they can take a pounding(hell they use them into ONT for crying out loud, go in there with the Santa-Anna's blowing and you'll see what I mean) They'll be around for a while longer.

By 2015....1100 pilots in ANC.

How can anyone plan that far ahead ??? Some serious Ouiji board action, I guess.
