I did not realize there was a bird that could fly that high!
ACFT, UPS28, A B757, ENROUTE FROM SDF TO MHR, STRUCK A GOOSE AT FL360.
ACFT DESCENDED TO FL280, DUE TO THE WINDSHIELD BEING CRACKED AND CONTINUED
ON TO DESTINATION. PILOT DID NOT DECLARE AN EMERGENCY. OVER COLORADO

I really doubt there was a bird at that height. Either the report has the altitude wrong or they didn't really hit a bird. I've had three windshield cracks in my career. One at FL350 was rather disconcerting. None of the events occurred as a result of a bird strike, rather a faulty windshield heat.
