Commuting to HKG

I have heard that the cost of living in Thailand is about 1/5 of the cost of living in the USA. Yet HKG is the most expensive city in the world.

My question, for those with international experience, would it be possible to commute from Thailand to HKG?

Thanks

Rott

FedEx will only provide a move package if moving to within 100 NM
(no housing allowance if outside of 100 NM and existing contract move packages mandate 100 NM and same country)

Yes, it would be very easy to commute from Thailand to Hong Kong. It would be much less easy to wipe the smile off your face.

The problem with commuting to HKG if you bid that FDA is a visa. I would assume that if you bid a HKG FDA, and signed the agreement that the company wants you to sign....mainly the tax equalization....then HKG will give you a visa to get into CAN to operate your trips. Also, without having ANY IDEA of what the lines will be like, you may be better off just getting a place in HKG....for positioning purposes. And, how is the transportation to CAN going to work? Another thing is most of the Subic folks already meet the tax requirements for bonafide residency outside the US. So how will that tax equalization affect our 80K+ deduction? Way to many unanswered Q's.

You call 500 pounds a "move package"?
