Possible phishing exploit on FEDEX's site?

OK, I admit, I am a computer freek, but has anyone else noticed this?

I was on the pilot careers page on the fedex site, and after about 5 seconds I was redirected to another site that had a page very similar to the one that I was on, except that I was no longer on the fedex.com website. I also received the security warning notice that their security certificate was invalid. All of this seemed very odd to come from FEDEX.

Here is the careers page on the FEDEX site where I was redirected from ..

http://www.pilot.fedex.com/careers/qualifications.shtml

and I was directed to:

https://www.pilotcredentials.com/careers/

Notice that its not even on the FEDEX website - yet this is where the $50 is paid to apply.

I tried to look up the domain name owner for 'pilotcredentials.com' and it was not available. (Hmm..)

It's been awhile since I looked at the FEDEX application site but I don't recall this from before.

Anyone know if the pilotcredentials site is part of FEDEX?

In the meantime I think I'll just hold on to my cc #.

Justice,

I think you're fine. The site is regestered to FedEx (found on whois.com):

Registrant Contact:
FedEx
John Ryder
Fax: none
3040 Independent Rd
Suite 259
Memphis, Tn 38118
US

This probably feeds their online database and they couldn't get it to work properly through their FedEx.com site. I'm no IT person, maybe someone else out there has some idea why....

It is also the site that we get taken to from our site to do online recommendations for applicants. It's legit.

(blush) Thanks guys, I guess when I checked whois it must have been down temporarily.

I don't know where the $50.00 is going. Maybe it is used to pay ALPA for all their super negotiating. Don't apply there. Come to a company where the pilots have a back-bone. Where pilots have strength and unity.

And where you get paid $26.00 / hr first year

Sure first year pay is pathetic, but they do give you uniforms for life, per diem during training, a hotel during training, luggage and brain bags free for life. Plus lavender really isn't a man's color!!!!!!!!!!!!
