STV Trip Rig
 
If given a 30 day STV do you get trip rig for 30 days like a weekend layover? Seems like if you are getting told to be in a hotel in Paris you should get trip rig. Would be 180 credit hours.

My bet no. Here are some other questions I asked my LEC and will post answers when I get them.

Some Questions on STV:

Will we be paid like a regular DH when we are being positioned for our STV?

Will the travel days count as days off in our minimum days off per bid period?

Will conflicts with the preceding and following bid periods be treated as CIC or substitution?

Will I be guaranteed any days off before or after my STV?

How will vacation effect my STV?

Most of these question assume an involuntary 30 day (one bid period?) STV but are equally relevant to a voluntary 90 day STV.

Unfortunately, whatever the answers that are given to your questions by your LEC, they will hold the same amount of water that JL's promise of "standard STV length". It is leaking right now all down my left leg......

I agree, I told my wife to go ahead and by curtains; just make sure you don't pay more then the "standard" amount.

I personally will not accept standard STV length as an answer until they tell me when the overage provisions of the CBA kick in for a non standard STV length.

Here's the answer as confirmed by the Union:

STV to a FDA effectively resets your base or domicile for the duration of the STV. With that, you will only be paid whatever the STV line you are inversed is worth. The only additional item is the clause that pays per diem on those days you're not operating trips. As the Church Lady on SNL used to say "Isn't that special...."

STV vs Atlas Out-Basing
 
I guess our STV clause could be worse; we could be getting no days off.

Atlas has an Out-Basing option in their contract where pilots can bid for such assignments. The definition: "An out-base assignment will have no scheduled or required days off except as may be required by applicable FARs."

For this up to 33-day Reserve period, one is compensated with 105 CH versus a normal 62 CH guarantee (roughly 170% of normal). Our STV equivalent of 72 CH would be 122 CH (not responsible for errors in public math ;)).

Guess I shouldn't be giving the NC any bright ideas (he said sarcastically). The sad part is that we all know there are bunch of DP takers and other flying ho's who would jump at the chance to do something similar. Never mind that it (just like STV) would be a huge concession to our highly profitable company.
