IPA Flight Times Article

They made their choice when they took the jobs as managers and decided not to go through the hiring process that the rest of us took. Does anyone else get a little wrinikled about these guys walking in at solid six figures and staying there while the rest of us worked our way up? Or are we supposed to feel sorry for their poor judgement?

This has nothing to do with poor judgement. Some of these guys were not offered line pilot jobs. They had no choice. The guys who went into management from the line; most of them felt they had something more to offer to UPS than just line flying. Why should they be penalized. They are not traitors. After all, who cuts your paycheck each month? Some IPA pilots are convinced it should be the IPA, not UPS. Also, there is the issue of the blue IPA badges; who are these guys employed by anyway? Talk about traitors!!

The IPA guys who went over because they had " more to offer" ? Ok I'm done chuckling now.
I know who cuts the checks for the pilots, I also know what those checks would be if there was no union. the improvements I have seen at ups over the last 19 years have come from the IPA. I well remember the loyality of ups in its attempts to furlough 100 new hires hoping the line pilots would pick up the slack. I remember being told I was making a career decision regarding my enforcing an FAR from one of those guys with "more to offer". Most have many more stories then I.
Geoffrey, I take offense to your remarks of a union pilot with a union card as a traitor.

Hi!
I was reading about UPS trying to acquire 30%? of a German company (Duetsche Bonn or Deuetsche Post). I understood that this company UPS is trying to buy a stake in is the parent company of DHL.
Another poster speculated that, basically, UPS was trying to buy DHL (who owns 49% of Polar, who is owned by Atlas' parent company).
Does anyone know anything along this line?
Thanx!
