Smith -- Aviation Hall of Fame
Aviation Hall of Fame Admits 2 Tennesseans
FedEx founder Frederick Smith was one of two Tennesseans inducted Saturday evening into the National Aviation Hall of Fame.
Smith, 62, flew crop dusters at age 15 and during the Vietnam War flew more than 200 missions with the Marines. In 1971, he founded Federal Express, which today is a $32 billion, 250,000-employee business with service in more than 220 countries.
Sounds like the Marines few crop dusters in Vietnam. Was he inducted because he flew crop dusters at age 15, or for founding FedEx?
It (like a lot of books) makes it look like he was a pilot in the Marines. He never sets the record straight.

Well...you can be a gazzilionare (in Forest Gump's words) but there is only way to be a fighter pilot.
Earn it. (and have some good luck and timing...)
Nice thing about most guys at FDX is whatever they did in the past--mil or civilian...they've paid their dues and have a lot to be proud of. Never got rich being a military guy--but sure wouldn't trade those adventrues for anything.
