WiFi on dedicated freighters.
 

Is there WiFi on board dedicated freighters to update the pilots iPads like they have on pax airplanes. How do cargo pilots get updates if there is no wifi...Thanks in advance for all replies.

Atlas is in the process of installing WiFi across their freighter fleets. The newest 777s were ordered with the capability installed, but it has not been activated yet. Keep in mind that aircraft were flying around the world without issue looooong before iPads were available.

how did we ever fly across the world without WiFi for nearly 80 years? it’s beyond me.

Stocks, crypto, oh and WSI I guess?

Updates to their iPads for wx info

ACARS and weather radar not working?

What about updates to the latest version of Angry Birds?

it’s called a weather forecast and onboard radar. Really, if you were a real pilot, at some point in your studies, you would come across them. Good grief.

Have you ever heard of operational control? Dispatches have contact with flights all around the world the whole flight....

Any weather changes or pertinent info that changes thru out the flight will be relayed via, acars, sat phone, HF radio, VHF radio...
