MEM Crash pads

Another way to go. If someone who gets hired here at Fedex goes ahead and signs a lease and sets up a crash pad then you will have no problems getting it filled. I would imagine that folks will coe running to you ASAP. Plenty of apts in Memphis. Some better than others.

Good Day, everyone,
I just got a job with Seaport Airlines in Memphis. I'm moving from Juneau AK, i'll be in the memphis area around sept. 20, 2011. I'll be training in the PC-12. I'm new to the area, and was hoping someone had a crash pad, or give me the right heading of where todo. any info would be great.

Good luck passing the PC12 checkride, most of the guys at MEM dislike outsiders and the checkride is like pulling teeth, it really is.... if you can I really do recommend staying in AK or finding another company...most guys I know regret SeaPort and the training contract that comes with a checkride bust...good luck

Hey Guys,
Just received my training class date after being gone on a MLA. I haven't had a pad in MEM in a while and was wondering if anyone may have a lead on a crashpad available for May and June?
Thanks in advance,
Irish

Received the call a few days ago that I will be starting indoc early Feb with 757 training to follow. I've had a permanent grin on my face ever since that just doesn't seem to want to go away.
I'd like to find out if anyone can give me some leads/advice on crashpads. I'll be looking for long term since I do not plan to move my family to Memphis anytime soon. I've checked out craigslist and there is not really much on there, and my sponsor also took some photos of a few flyers that he saw in the AOC. I'm also curious about how much of a hassle would it be to get a place in Southaven and have to drive over to the 757 training facility. Would a place on the East side make more sense? I'd certainly appreciate any crashpad information/advice you all can give. Thanks!!!!!

Sunny1,
Congratulations on getting the call for class!
As far as crash pads go, I don't know of any that are available.
I do know if you can find one on the east side of town, it will make your drive to the training center much nicer. I was on the 757 for a year, and my crash pad is about 10 minutes away. The short drive to training every day for two months was good. Not dealing with the I-240 traffic is nice.
I like the east side of town. There are lots of grocery stores and restaurants. There is plenty to do. It seems to be away from most of the bad spots in town.
I know that at sometime in the future, they will be moving all of the training to the same building over on airways, so it will change your commute for training. That is a while away, not exactly sure when that will happen.
Good luck.
