Here's the deal. Our Union basically fell asleep at the switch during this LOA negotiation period. This drivel about ALPA senior personnel conducting "market research" in both Hong Kong and France is absolute BS. They went over there; got off the plane in Hong Kong and hung around for a day before heading up to Ghuangzhou for the grip and grin with the locals in mainland China. They didn't contract in-depth relocation research and fell all over themselves when the Company said they would acquiesce and ALLOW crewmembers to live in Hong Kong(we won't talk about the significant tax benefits to FDX when chosing HKG over CAN). So then the Company throws their LOA agreement at ALPA that all pilots need to sign before going to France...hmmmmm.....but why do we need OUR guys to sign off on this document??? Then DW sees an opportunity to show ALPA National that he can bring home some type of International agreement with some type of RLA/SCOPE language and we get the full court press to sign this LOA or all of our Int'l flying will go to foreigners.
My limited mentality says to be careful when I'm being sold a bill of goods that in my mind clearly lacks the pre-requisites a basic re-location package from any other Fortune 500 company would offer......schooling/COLA/housing and NO STV. How can anybody vote for this pathetic LOA??????

2 cylinder,

Here is a question for you, do you have faith that the MEC will spend the negotiating capital for 200 guys in an FDA as opposed to spending that money on the majority of the crew force? I would like to have faith, but if you ask the subic guys....

I have no faith in that statement(ie not in writing).

That STV has way more give backs than stated before(frequency 1 every six months vice 14, per diem only on your days off away from home, loss of first class DH tickets) but you do get to fly your family over for your 30-35 days away from home, if you are married or have kids.

Look at that other website, fdxloa.com

Vote no, I almost fell into the used car salesmanship.
