Block Rep Buy Bac???

Block Rep Buy Bac???
Hate to stir the pot while we have so many other interesting things to resolve in our union, but can anybody give me insight into how the union buys back trips for the leadership? Specifically, is there ever any real requirement for a BLOCK REP to have his ENTIRE month bought back? I ask the question partly out of frustration because I don't feel as if ther has been much in the way of representation for my block...i.e. absolutlely NO directly emails to block members regarding LOA, Age 60 and NO explanation for why he fell in line with everybody else without making some effort to communicate his thoughts/opinions to our block.
When I looked at his calander for the month of August, he is not flying at all. No mil leave, no leave of absence, no emergency leave, no vacation....nothing. His term expires next month because his seniority number no longer fits into the footprint of the block, but I find it hard to believe (and somewhat convenient) that he has an entire month of work to do at the office, but couldn't find the time to effectively communicate ANYTHING to my block over the past year. Are specific days/times assigned to folks who have there trips bought back? How do I get a copy of his schedule? I'm sure when I get a response from the union, I'll be told that he is helping with "special projects"; sure feels like we're paying to give a guy a month off right before he leaves office.
I would appreciate any insight as to how this process works. Thanks and fly safe.

There have been movements in the past to try and force the union to open the books on Trip Loss Pay. They have always succeeded in squashing these movements with rebuttals like - "are you making an accusation here?" etc, etc. turning it around on whoever brings the issue forward.
All that is required to put this to bed once and for all it to have a motion at your LEC meeting that requires Trip Loss Pay to be published - just like the Non-Member list and show credit hours paid by Trip Loss Pay, specific trips removed, Committee or source of the pay. This data exists at present, but is only reviewed by 2 or 3 sets of eyes (Financial Oversight Committee) on a 2 to 4 times a year basis. This data could be available to all dues paying members on the website.
A resolution addressing this issue was presented at an LEC meeting a little over a year ago and the MEC Secretary/Treasurer (Cxxx Bxxxx) was visibly angered and stood up and spoke about all the reasons why this was a bad idea - he went on to explain that if anyone knew of someone that was abusing Flight Loss Pay that he would investigate personally - but under no condition was a resolution requiring the union to make these details public necessary. The 10 people present at the LEC meeting were swayed by the silver tongue of the MEC Secretary/Treasurer and voted to table this resolution.

I wanted to know the same about a neg. com. member(MH) who sent us the with you or without you letter. Bob said they were flying the line and decompressing but I don't know because he is a calender blocker. I gave up there. I really don't have too much to say to a calender blocker, I think it speaks for itself.
