You will most likely be displaced to other routes or plan to sit reserve in MEM or IND. MEM full of people. You may fly runs out of there every once in a while. You will be essentially a MEM based floater. No pay raises. All pay the same.

Well that seems to take away from the home most nights perspective.

Yeah it is a tough thing. The more pilots they have, the more time you can expect to be at home while others sit at the airport on ready reserve. If they don’t have that covered someone will be there. So either you can spend the night at the MEM or IND airport or go float and fly.

Sounds like a good deal if you live in Memphis.

Just to verify when you say floater is that saying you will be going to other bases to float until needed or you are just hanging around Memphis until needed? Basically like reserve?

It will be either. You will float or sit reserve in our main hub reserve slots. Those reserve lines in the hubs are airport reserve.

Well there isn’t a promise that will happen. The airline is understaffed in other areas so you will most likely be floating until they can get more people. If you want a more firm line. See if there is a base that doesn’t have a based pilot and go there and be that based pilot. Does that make sense?
