LEC has openings for 3 Block reps next month...A great opportunity to get yourself elected if you fall into one of the blocks that are in it. I too am frustrated with recent events and have considered running for block rep. Not that I know anymore about what it means to be a rep than the next guy, but I DO think that I know what it is like to be a commuting, line pilot....what guys flying the line day in and day out expect from their elected representatives, and how almost ANYBODY could more effectively communicate with block members.

If you are part of LEC 22, NOW is the time to get your foot in the door and get the change started that everybody seems to be looking for!

Here's another option: Remember this. Remember it well. And vote accordingly when re-elections come up. We are ALPA, and when the time gets here to deep-six DW and those reps who think majority opinion is inconvenient to their agendas...vote in fresh blood.

Here here!

It would be extremely tempting, after moving back to some other domicile, to fly every disputed pairing I can grab. When somebody gives me a ration about it, I can get in their face and ask, "And how did YOU vote on the LOA? Hmmm? Did I hear a YES in that mumble? Ah-hah. OK. Now YOU know how it feels to be hosed over by another crewmember. Remember this when you have a chance to vote on something else that you think won't affect you."

Ok Herky, how would you respond when I said "I voted against it, and got at least 3 others to change their minds. By flying the DP's you are enabling the company to make our lives shorter by giving us these crappy pairings. Couldn't you help the PSIT by not flying these voluntarily?" We only hurt ourselves by voluntarily flying DP's, I can understand your anger, but take it out on the right people, not your fellow line dog...

Just using your quote purpletail. What can you do recall the MEC reps and install new ones. LDEC 26 is voting on issuing recall ballots at tomorrows LEC meeting 8/14/07. I'll be there to vote for recall ballots. If you want the change to start then be there to vote them out. If not, then accept the Sh*t they put out.

Flying DP's isn't the way to do anything but hose your fellow pilots....and possibly yourself one day. If yu want to make a change, run for office or make a note of who you're not going to vote for next time they are up for re-election.

I'm looking forward to the day when we can get some new blood in those positions to actually fight for what the pilots want, not their personal agendas and those of their cronies.

FJ

I'm with you FJ. Recall and vote in new leadership. Let's start a big push to get this done.
