Default ALPA Dues Increase/Mistake??

I like to maintain good records, especially between my bank and my payroll direct deposit. To my surprise while I was reviewing the green screen for the 15th Aug payroll, I noticed that the ALPA dues deduction was 10% of my earnings for the month.

Was there a special assessment that I missed? What caught my attention is that I put 15% into my 401K and the ALPA Dues deduction are quite close.

Anyone else care to take a look at their check?

If this is an accurate deduction, I will ask my rep about the disparity.

Thanks

The deduction on the 15th is for the previous month. As July was a 5 week month, is it possible that you had a real lucrative month (High BLG or maybe carryover from June.)

I wish it was lucrative

NO carry-over, no add'l flying, no "leaves" that would require a catch-up.

YTD ALPA Dues = 1100 (before Aug check)
Aug ALPA Dues = 490

Odd.

Let' see, if my math is correct, I would have had to earn $24,500 in the month of July to have a dues check of $490.

24,500 * 2% = $490

Now that is funny.......there are not enough credit hours in a month for a narrow body f/o to earn that much

Did Harvey Watt notify you that you needed to pay up? Or did you figure it out looking at your paycheck? I'd hate to think I owe, and have it lapse.

Thanks!

Settle down, I was just asking. It wouldn't be the first time someone made that mistake. Kinda like when a guy drops half his month for Mil leave and then can't understand why his next month's 15th check is so small.

As for NB F/O, since you have no info in your profile, you coulda been a WB Capt for all I know.

Mine went up automatically with my auto-draft from checking to HW. Got promoted to the big 5-0 club recently and the insurance premium went up.

No got a letter form H.W. and then this morning in the mail got a letter from ALPA stating that if my insurance premiums are not made in full by the due date of this month my ENTIRE insurance package will be cancelled. Tried to call ALPA but the office was closed. Top priority tomorrow after my hub turn flight. Will keep you advised. Someone might get really screwed by this...
