R Day swap

New guy question. At what point this month can I start swapping R days for next month? Thanks.

Good luck. I always get a big NO for the swap or drop. Figure out alternatiive scheduling tools.

As soon as open time opens for the next month in your seat.

What I like to call midnight madness.

Good luck. As a new guy if you are in the Boeing you will probably have fairly good luck since the back and right seats are so fat.

I've had moderate success moving and dropping R days ...

Thanks. So what does the view/add open mean then? I'm still trying to figure this all out.

You are able to go in and make-up trips lost when something was dropped due to training, vacation, etc.........
i.e. you have dibs on the open time before it is released to the rest of the crewforce in midnight madness.........

Thanks. I must have missed the day in indoc that taught us this stuff!

I don't think anyone really remembers much about indoc. That's just the whirlwind. Suggestion is to sit down with one of your sponsors and go over some of the nuances of bidding, VIPS, DP's (don't fly them), M/U bank, vacation, etc.... You'll also learn quite a bit by screwing up and having a really crappy month or losing that good trip. Been there, done that... Good luck:cool:

Actually, during the view/add window you have "dibs" on open time before the schedulers start their VTO/reverse inversion line-building process.

Yep, beat me to it!

I'm doing this for Sept. CRS was kind enough to move 2 of my VAC buffer conflicted R-days by giving me a day off after a earlier block of R-days, then the 2 moved days! :( So, I put in for a MU trip on the "day off".
