Questions for UPS HR? Post here

FD
Thanks for doing this.
First some background. My buddy was able to talk to an HR person, who used to be in pilot hiring but no longer, and was told I had a pefect score 8of 8. I have been active since submitting on the 10th of April but no assesment.
So now the question: Will people who had that 8 of 8 get an assesment or now with the new window are we dumped for the next round of applicants?
BTW will pass the word to my buddy to not stop by again.
Thanks for doing this.

Well, this creates a slew of other questions.
Scoring System:
How does the scoring system work???
Is "1" the lowest and "8" the highest score? Can you give ANY inputs on how the score is derived?
For example, is it 50% sim, 50 % HR or maybe 25% your resume, 25% your sim performance, 25% your check airman/instructor background, etc and the rest the interview itself?
Do you have ANY suggestions on dos and don’ts during the interview?
Thanks

Another one:
Section III on the "flight crew application supplement (v2.0)" has a text block for free text: "Do you have any other special aviation qualifications not previously described." We're invited to list instructor, check airman quals, etc.
The system only seems to retain the top line of text, and deletes any other characters that extend down into the lines below. Can HR read only the top line? Can they read everything if we fill in the whole text box? Are they even interested if we go on for pages telling them how wonderful we are (haha)?

Thanks FD - great help!
1. The difference between "active" and "on file"?
2. Why some got to upload resumes while others got to fill out flight time supps?
3. Why some applied to a "Flight Officer" link and others to a "Second Officer" link? (why were both available? what's the difference? I know, I know, one sits sideways, but in terms of the app process...)
4. Can UPS employees input recs now to help in the app process, or only after one has been called for an interview to help with the interview?
5. Why disable the update function? You'd think they want to know about folks' most recent flight time and experience...
Thanks again...

Hi!
FE question:
My buddy does not have an FE Written. He has an FE certificate.
BUT, it is a turboprop FE certificate, and it it older than 2 years old.
Does he need to take a new FE Written?
Reccomendation:
How, exactly is a UPS pilot supposed to reccomend someone?
Thanx!

Thanks FD, here's mine:
1. What is the status of a guy who gets the "thanks, but we have many qualified applicants, blah, blah" message after the online assesment, then goes from "active" to "on file"? Is he out of the running entirely? Just for the year? What should his next steps be?

International address page
Freight Dog,
I just filled out an app - in my employment history, after the first entry (all entries are Navy commands, US-based) the entry seemed to default to an international address; there was no place to enter a zip code or state, though without checking the "international" block, it would not allow me to proceed. Strange glitch ... I hope that's not why the system gave me the
"We have received and reviewed your background application information. Unfortunately, we currently have many qualified applicants and will not be able to schedule you for additional testing at this time. Thank you for your interest in UPS." message as soon as I hit submit.
Thanks for the help!

Nepotism:
Nepotism rule – please specify EXACTLY who would be considered ineligible. In other words: mother, father, son, daughter, etc.
For example will a stepson be eligible to fly for UPS if his step dad flies there already? Again, would be great if they could explain exactly what constitutes “ineligible relatives.”
I understand the rules have been relaxed a little but no one seems to know what they really are.

Radial, I don't think you can fly there if your brother throws boxes. I know an A300 captain whose cousin was trying to get a job and couldn't because he worked there.
UPS will ask if the person you put down as working for UPS is still employed there. They already know so be honest.
AV8OR- I'm pretty sure the stepson is screwed. I do know for a FACT that in-laws are included in the nepotism rule. I was told a someone in management (very high) that in-laws would not be a problem. HR was another story.
