Why People use FDX and NOT UPS...
Glad this wasn't my package being delivered! HaHa! ;) :o

That's some dang funny stuff... I don't care who you are!!
If you've ever thrown a package marked fragile 15 feet onto a porch because you're too dang lazy to walk the extra distance.... You might be a redneck UPS driver!! Nice flat-top.... Delta One Charlie Kilo |
We use FedEx and not UPS because my honey gets a sweet airline discount on FedEx. The first time we used it to overnight, it was supposed to be $38 but with his discount it was $11. I'd rather use UPS since I work there but unless we get a sweet deal like this, it ain't happenin'. I wonder how long FedEx will continue to do this. From what I hear, even UPS used to get the discount but when I asked about it a few months ago, we were not in the system anymore.

I found out what the problem was
This guy is definitely going to get reprimanded by management. He clearly blew off safety procedures when he failed to keep three points of contact exiting the package car.
Other than that, it was a textbook delivery. |

Personally, I don't blame the guy a bit. If you can't trim your shrubs better than that - you deserve it. :)

Makes me wonder about the authenticity. |

Agreed. for someone w/ such a great security system, you would think he would spend some money on his landscaping.

Btw. ...this is why people use UPS and not Fedex! :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5wuiSy6xFM ...and more importantly, this is why they choose DHL! ;) http://www.captionmachine.com/archiv...d-fedex-crash/ PT - "your" video was great by the way... |
Years ago, when I worked for UPS, I ordered a new set of pistons and cylinders from Stoddard Porsche, in Ohio. The cost was somewhere around $900 and a few months after they processed the order, I still had not received the items. I called Stoddard and they told me that they had shipped them, maybe 2 months ago, via UPS, and that I should call UPS and find out what had happened. I explained to them that I had not contracted with UPS, but with them and that if anyone should call UPS, it should be them.
Anyway, a few days later, I got a call from a manager at UPS, telling me that they had in fact delivered my pistons. I explained that I never got them, at which point the manager asked if he could come out to the house to discuss this with me. He arrived the next day and did everything but accuse me of lying and stealing. However, he immediately shut up when I asked him to show me where I had signed for the delivery. A week later, I got a call from Stoddard, asking what I wanted them to do. I told them that I'd prefer they just send me my money back as I was going over to Germany with my guard unit in a few weeks and I'd pick up the P & C's over there. The check came the next week and a few weeks later I took off for Nordholtz, an air base in West Germany. Once there I drove down to the Porsche dealer in Kaiserslautern, but alas, all the 912 pistons and cylinders had been sold to (of all places) Stoddards. Anyway, all this had happened over the winter, and now it was early spring and I was taking a walk around the house, looking for problems that the winter might have caused, when I came across a cardboard box, thrown in one of the bushes along the side of the house, away from the door. Upon opening it, guess what I found. There, neatly wrapped in oil cloth, were a brandy new set of pistons and cylinders I thought long and hard about fessing up and sending Stoddard another check for them, but the more I thought of the frustration with dealing with the UPS dork, the more I finally came to the conclusion, that "screw them", let them eat the cost. I know it didn't effect their bottom line, it's just that nobody likes to be accused of something they didn't do, especially if it were the other persons fault to begin with. The other thing I don't like about UPS is that they don't offer any shipping discount to anyone, not even their own employees, while FedEx offers discounts to everyone in the airline industry. As well, FedEx retains a custodial responsibility, while UPS is prone to just throw your stuff at your front door or breezeway. And the final straw is that my Doberman loves our FedEx courier, but doesn't care for the UPS package car driver, and that's the most telling thing of all.:) |

When I purchased my new computer on steroids from Dell, UPS was the deliverer of choice. It didn't take long to get here. A big brown truck pulled up in front of my house. A very young woman (she looked a lot like dckozak's avatar) jumped out and said to me "there are three boxes. You take one and I'll take the other. And your husband can take the little box."

This thread is so stupid. It's like saying Why people fly Delta and not American. All commercial airlines have late flights and ugly flight attendants, just like UPS FedEX and DHL all have crappy service on occasion.

UPSFO, what happened to the sense of humor you displayed so well last October in one of my threads? Remember the one about eating at Taco Bell? That was so funny, I still chuckle when I think about it.
This thread should probably move to the Hangar. |
You guys must be ex flight att.;)

I wouldn't admit to a crime on a quasi-public forum, even one I though I'd rationalized thoroughly, even if it's kinda funny. Karma was in play there to not have any jugs or pistons in K-town, but to have them back in the USA.

Wow, you're like the grandpa talking non-stop about his heroic actions during WW1...and he was only a cook who never left his base...;) No offense, but... Let it go - please, you've been a purple guy for years, forget UPS, you're not part of it anymore. Many things have changed since you left, apparently you didn't... ...and yes, I too wish we had an employee discount but I'd rather hear it from someone who's here now, who stuck it out here and worked to improve this company. Not some ‘prehistoric’ ex-brownie that was here when 727s were "state of the art." You chose to leave, now puhleeze leave us alone... We can still be friends you know? :p |

No way, this must be a spoof, right?! Now, even Paris Hilton seem very intelligent to me... The question posed to Miss Teen South Carolina was: "Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can't locate the U.S. on a world map. Why do you think that is?" She may as well have said, "Because they went to school with me." Perhaps we should appeal to the UN to put maps in all our classroooms. . |
