Nepal Airlines, which has two Boeing aircraft, has had to suspend some services in recent weeks due to the problem. The goats were sacrificed in front of the troublesome aircraft Sunday at Nepal's only international airport in Kathmandu in accordance with Hindu traditions, an official said. "The snag in the plane has now been fixed and the aircraft has resumed its flights," said Raju K.C., a senior airline official, without explaining what the problem had been. Local media last week blamed the company's woes on an electrical fault. The carrier runs international flights to five cities in Asia. On my last trip as an Airbus F/O, the pairing started with a deadhead to Mumbai. I, for reasons still unknown, decided to take Air India, which had a direct flight from JFK to Mumbai. The trip turned into a horror show, and if you do a search, you'll be able to read the entire thing, as I had posted it maybe a year or so ago. Anyway, when I finally got on the Air India 747-100, serial number: 000.5, flying out of CDG (you've really gotta read the whole story) on the way to Mumbai, I was the only one on the upper deck, which was their first class section. When the purser came around to ask me what I wanted for dinner, I of course said: "I'll have the steak". The poor guy didn't know whether to sh!t or go blind. Finally I said, "the chicken would be just fine", and took him off the hook. When he left I laughed so hard, I almost wet myself. Still get a chuckle every time I think of that trip.:D
