Today is 9/11
 

Let's remember and honor those who died 6 years ago today, as well as those who are living with the horror of that fateful day. Except of course the terrorists!

Time to make some progress on that FFDO application.....

If you've got kids mature enough to handle the discussion talk to them about 9/11....make sure they understand it was a "terrorist" attack against civilians, and that thousands were murdered....your discussion with them will helps frame the context of many of the issues they are now hearing about at school or from the other media sources.

I believe "true change" takes at least 3 generations ---- thus, I think 9/11 is a point in history we cannot let our children misunderstand or forget, since our political, military and economic engagement in the Middle East will last well beyond even their lifetimes.

I'll pause to remember those who died in the attack....and all those who are serving domestically and overseas to engage and contain terrorism on every level.

NEVER FORGET.

Just got back from TAILHOOK this weekend held each year at Reno vice Las Vegas. Will never be like the old days but still lots of fun to play some golf, see old friends, and shoot some craps. Went to the flag panel this year since I haven't gone to one in about 5 years because frankly they use so many acronyms I can't understand it any more. MCDU, GCP, LRU hey I can do it too.

So while I was sitting there trying to listen about personal, buying planes, carrier development one admiral said some thing that immediately caught my ear. That is that Al-Quada thinks this is a 100 year war. THATS RIGHT 100 year war. In 5 seperate phases. Phase 1 is to declear Ji-had. That has been done. Can't rember all the phases but somewhere around phase 3 is to control the WORLD's oil supply and wreak avok with every nations economy. Phase 4 is to totally wipe Isreal off the face of the planet. And finally phase 5 is to have everyone in the world converted to Islam.

These clowns are in it for the long haul. So while every one of use remembers where they were on 9/11, I especially remember because the F/O on flight A/A flight 11 was one of my navy students. God bless you Tom "Stout" McGuiness

Good reminder--spoke with my kids tonight, before family prayer. Whatever your faith, keep those in harm's way in your thoughts & prayers. Won't get political, but as for me and my house, we will NEVER FORGET!
