This simple, anyone that works during a strike or takes a striking workers job is a Scab. A piece of ****. NWA Mx workers are pieces of ****, period. And so is every ups manager pilot that works during a work stoppage. Go drink the kool-aid, Scab want a be. That's why I don't want you on our seniority list, 90% of the UPS flight managers are back stabbing yes men. Catering sucks, our transportation sucks, our stairs suck. You guys are really doing alot of good. Worthless.

So what would you call Northwest Pilots? You call UPS Managers "Pieces of ***" for working because you feel you shouldn't? Son, let me tell you something, everybody in this company has a responsibility. That is to our customers. They are who pays us and dictates our future contracts. Your narrowminded statements are from the stoneage. I'd much rather have a 'Yes" Man than listening to people as yourself cry and whine how bad you have it. Yes I can take your package. Yes I can give you the best service possible and the YES I'LL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO EARN YOUR BUSINESS!!!!. Thats probably why you are just a line pilot and a manager is where he is. You cry and whine about it when they actually do something about it. If you are so smart and can do it better than why don't you? That goes for the rest of you that think UPS is soo bad. Grow a sack and make a difference if not then shut up!

I would love to walk across a picket line and take your job. Believe me, UPS will not fool around on this one. They will replace all of you, even if it takes 100 years. Mark my words.

The work environment is totally different than it was 5 years ago. Employees who are unionized cannot "hold up" companies anymore. Look at GM, GE, and many others.

If there were a strike at UPS, the teamsters might honor picket lines at major air hubs for a week or two, but not much longer. At other places they would continue to work as scheduled. The TWU dispatchers would walk, but also not for very long. By the way, there a 15 qualified mgt. dispatchers, not 4 like someone else said.

The mechanics also might walk for a short time, but would return fairly soon.

Then the company would rebuild and the ******* IPA would be history. The IPA is "drunk" with what they perceive as real power. The company has the real staying power just like Bush in Iraq. UPS would weather a strike and come out the better for it in the end.

I don't have a dog in this hunt, but I do have a question. Given the current administration in the W.H. I wonder if a strike would even be allowed ie the President says no under the RLA. A strike by UPS pilots would impact business in this country. That being said I'm not that familar with the act and not sure how long the President can actually impose his authority to delay a strike action..

Do you really think UPS' Board of Directors or shareholders will stand idly by as the company piddles away money fighting the pilots? Can you tell me how much it costs to train a new company pilot? Now multiply that by 2700?? Okay, maybe 2200, considering management and scabs that will cross the picket line. The training costs of replacing pilots, plus the business UPS will lose to others during a strike, not to mention declining company value, will amount to tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions, more than what it would cost to settle with the pilots. Gimme a break. Not a real smart business decision, huh? Now shutting down the IPA may be what you and select managers may want, but that notion is totally unrealistic.

You try and compare UPS with GM and GE? Well, they're LOSING money, closing plants, and cutting jobs...UPS is GROWING, MAKING BILLIONS...

By the way, what you're doing is called "fear mongering"...a transparent, union-busting, management tactic to undermine pilots' confidence in what they're doing.

And I'm a purple guy waiting for the same kind of drivel to come from our company PR...so my dog is on another hunt...

as i read this thread, it amazes me that there are some who find it perfectly acceptable to crawl on their knees to management and lick their shoes. hell, not only acceptable, they LIKE the idea.

weird, sad, and scary.
