Default Cheap MEM hotel that will pick up and drop off at AOC/ARTC?

It's been a long time since I've needed a FedEX friendly hotel in MEM. Is there a cheap one (going to be a short stay) that will pick up from the AOC and drop off at the AOC or Training BLDG?

Thanks guys.

Default Hotel du Jour

Holiday Inn Select may not be the cheapest ($55 plus tax) but their transportation is consistent and reliable. Good for AOC and training to the Gucci building (MD). If you haven't been in awhile, its a lot better than it was 10 years ago as the Four Points. Still eats around the hotel lack choice unless you like everything fried!

But the lunch buffet there rocks. People come from all over Democrat, Airways, and other nearby offices to do lunch there now.

Concur with the improvements--much "nicer" attitude and atmosphere the last couple years.

I find that the bullets don't sting quite as much as they once did, in that area too.

Priceline a hotel and car.
The last car I got was $11/day.
Hotel on Poplar/240 was $50.

And, you get the thrill of driving back and forth on I-240.

(Disclaimer: I've never actually been shot. It was only a joke.)

When you call the main, 800 number, for The Holiday Inn, they gave you a rate of 88 bucks per night, not including breakfast, as the FedEX rate for the Holiday Inn Select Airport, on Democrat RD.

Then, when you call the hotel directly to ask if this is right, they simply say "The people at the 1800 number will give you one price, and then when you get here we will change the price." I ask, "to what are you going to change it", and the woman replied "I dont know. You'll find out when you check in". (Im going to roll the dice and assume they change it to a lower price.

Glad to know the people in MEM are as helpful as ever. (Except for you guys, thanks for the help.)

I'll sleep on the ramp before I stay at the airport Mariott again. I knew it would be loud next to the taxiway, but I'm a heavy sleeper and that doesn't bother me. I knew it wouldn't be spotless, but I'm not exactly Mr. Clean. What I found most disconcerting was that the security bolt on the door was missing; it appeared to have been ripped off the door frame. Not that big a deal, except that the room didn't open to a hallway but the outdoors.

Holiday Inn Express is the way to go. Don't call the 800#, call the hotel directly to get the $55 rate. Show them your priority club card (or whatever card holiday inn takes) and you get a free omelet! They'll even hook you up with a full shave kit if you need it.

When I called the hotel directly, she said she "could not book a room for me, that she would HAVE to transfer me to the 1-800 #...". I didnt argue too long, she said they would change the price once I checked in.

I'll find out soon enough, and thanks for the info.

PS Whats going on in MEM tomorrow? I can not find a rental car ANYWHERE.

Holiday Inn Select # 901-332-1130. Tell them you want the Fedex pilot rate. Price is $55 for front rooms, something slightly more for the deluxe back rooms. If they can't accommodate you plan B would be the Radisson on the airport., also should be $55 (800-333-3333). Also keep in mind these are 24 hour rates, if you check in late you can check out late.

Got someone else on the phone this time, thanks for the info. She said it was fine that i had made my res with the 1-800# for 88 a night, and that the front desk changes it to 55/65 upon check in.

Thanks again guys.
