Default New Bid Rumor

Hot off CaptainMark's rumor mill.

Not going to have a big bid until the age 60 stuff is close or atleast figured out. Sorry George but you are out. It looks like you are going to owe me a dollar. Oct 12 tick tock

There will be a small bid.
10 MEM MD-11 CA ; 15 LAX MD-11 CA
Several MEM 757 crews (STVs get ready)
CDG and HKG crews but didn't know a number.

not sure about the other airplanes..... I guess he doesn't care about them. In the past his rumors have been fairly accurate. We'll see

And remember George ... the only other seat in the jet that sits sideways, FLUSHES! For as smug as George has been about this "age 60" topic for YEARS now ... it sure does look like he's not going to benefit from his APAAD contributions? Poor George

What am I missing here? Seems to me that as long as ALPA is out there sponsoring bills that allow active pilots to come back to the front, not having a big bid with a long training letter helps out the Age 60+ guys not hurt them b/c it gives them more positions to bid back to over the next few years.

Why would I be concerned about a bid?

You're right... no bid required to move to a back seat when you hit the regulated age.

Just remember one has not actually moved back until activated in the new seat. The only thing that happens when a pilot reaches the regulated age is that pay is reduced to the S/O rate. Hmmm?? Pay is reduced on the basis of age alone. Is this in accordance with Federal Law? I wonder how the EEOC would look at that question?

Keep barking up that tree George ... it's worked good for you so far, hasn't it?
