Accepted Fares
I know this has been hashed out here before. I searched and really couldn't find the resolution, although I think I know what the answer is going to be...
Accepted fare for deadhead $310. I don't deviate until I see what GT gets the ticket for. I received their email with the d/h details, and they paid $520 for the ticket. I know we were fighting the battle to have them now raise the accepted fare to what they paid (i.e. $520). If I remember correctly, everyone was saying that's only good if I actually use their ticket to MEM, otherwise I'm stuck with the $310. Is that right? Do I get the $520 in the bank, or the $310? Thanks |
Sorry ... just the $310 UNLESS YOU ACTUALLY TAKE THE SCHEDULED FLIGHT

I believe the union was asking for input with examples on this issue recently. Many times the published accepted fare is based on a "Perfect Storm" before they would get that fare. Those published fares are predictions and can be entirely inaccurate. I have called Corp. Travel many times to be told the best discount is not available and we have to use a higher fare. The best discount may be based on 2 seats on the aircraft. |
When you do your expense report, click on the discrepancy icon to the left of the scheduled DH. This brings up a window that allows you to change the accepted fare and the reason it changed.
Easy to do if I could figure it out and I've never had a problem doing it. This is why I always wait for the ticket to be issued before I deviate. |
First, you need to lay down a large sheet of plastic. Then, keep the wine flowing. Put on a little Huey Lewis or Genesis and get out the nail gun. Sometimes a habittrail works nicely. Then, when it's all said and done, you'll get your money. Or, you can just go to Dorsia, not drink the bellinis, and finish up by returning a few videotapes. Your choice.
