38 cdg 757 caps and 37 fo's. Where are the rest of the mem fo's?
To allow for FLEX/LCA's ...I would guess.

If for example 15 current MEM MD11 Captains Bid LAX and fill the new vacancies, they may or may not fill the additional (secondary) vacancy left by those guys moving. Many scenarios create secondary vacancies, they look at the total bid to adjust for the "real" numbers they need in each seat. Clear as mud ?

Embatp,

It means that the positions left open when pilots move to the positions posted in this vacancy bid. As to which ones won't be filled, only the company knows, but my guess would be 727SO, 727FO, and probably any seat on the DC-10.

****? I thought there were supposed to be 777 deliveries in 09'? even as early as Jan 09', according to rumors? I was reading in the 07-03 posting (fleet planning) that we won't get the 777 airframes till 10'? Did something change or am I missing something?...I could be missing something cause it's 0100 in FRA

Default 757 FO Positions

From what I have seen so far in this process, there has not been a great deal of excitement in the crew force about filling the 757 FO slots at CDG.

Let's say for the sake of argument, that less than half of the CDG 757 FO slots are filled by pilots currently on the property as a result of this most recent bid. Does the company open up another vacancy bid (07-04?) to plus up the numbers for 757 FO MEM to deepen the pool for STV or do they opt for new hires?

Thoughts?

It's probably sound advice around here Z to never get emotionally involved in the company's acquistion plan. Its only a plan. Once you see the FCIF posting for a training manager on the 777 (they already posted for the standards manager) then get excited. The 75 program is a prime example of all good plans getting tossed. Dont believe it until you see iron on the ramp. Now get some sleep. Fly safe.

Z, it says we will have 5 777 by May 2010. We are scheduled to get the first one in Jul 09. All subject to change of course. As somebody mentioned, when it's painted Purpe and parked on the ramp, then you can believe it.

I hear ya, I hear ya...I didn't mean to make it sound so emotional. It was more a figure of speech. I was just curious since I thought 09' was set in stone, but you are so right...it aint true until they're on the ramp, in our colors, and in the bid packs....

Still as firm as it gets at FDX for Aircraft deliveries, but since the 1st is, as mentioned above, due in Jul 09, it obviously doesn't show in the May 09 (end of Fiscal year) total. Based on the latest schedule, we should have 3 by peak of 09 and the listed 5 by May10.
