Base Plan vs Buy Up Medical Options

Do I understand the options correct? The Base Plan pays 90% of Hospital Care with no Cap on the 10 percent that we would pay. The Buy Up pays 100%. To me the Base plan could be very costly for extended hospital stay.

I think the out of pocket maximum would protect you.

Hcsa

Doing some homework on the upcoming Health Care Choices and came across this in the Flex Spending Account Info :

The following pilots are not eligible to participate in the HCSA or DCRA:

* Pilots domiciled in Guam and Puerto Rico.
* Pilots of Federal Express Virgin Islands, Inc.

Does this mean FedEx employs pilots in these areas ? I would assume it is feeder guys, but I did not know we actually employed any feeder guys. Just curious.

RX copay

If I'm reading this correctly, the prescription Co-Pays are MORE in the buy-up plan. Why would that be?

And am I reading it correctly that there are no deductables nor out-of-pocket maximums for the In-network Buy-up plan. How can there be no out-of-pocket maximums. Is it because most categories have 100% coverage after a copay? Does anyone see any loopholes where this might be bad.? I guess if you were a frequent visitor, you could have a few hundred doc visits and the copays might add up to a few thousand bucks?

I must be extra slow this lazy sunday. Can some smart person help me out.

I saw that too, and was going to ask the same question.

I am debating if it would be better to do the basic plan and open a health care savings account to cover the deductibles(about the same monthly cost), and risk the extra costs, but have a lower overall deductible. choices...

I want to know why I'm not being bombarded with messages from the MEC telling me what I should choose.

I can't seem to make the right decision on anything else they've proffered.

I think the Buy Up is covered 100% so no need for a cap (you pay as many co-pay's as visits). Copay's seem to be about $5-$10 higher.

Anyone know where to get the actual monthly cost for each plan? That seems to be an integral piece of the puzzle we need to know to compare the two plans and make a decision like Jack wants. Went to the ehr website as well as Anthem and can't find anything regarding monthly costs. Maybe the 24th?

Mine came on the back of the benefits letter I received yesterday.
