He and I went to Va Tech together and first met during our freshman in Sep 79 as he roomed with a HS buddy of mine! Since I knew I was probably gonna be stuck in MEM on reserve during the VT/BC game this Thur night, I asked if he wanted to get together to watch the game. Below my signature I wrote "BTW - what up with all the disputed pairings?"

He read the email on 10/15 (Read: 10/15/2007 5:53 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time) and shortly thereafter his calendar was blocked! :D Oh yea, he never responded to my email!

Good Job!
You might want to email the mo-ron again and tell him that blocking his calendar doesn't keep other pilots from looking at DPs on the Trip Recap and seeing his name.

What are you really saying here ? Is the fact that the trip has nice layovers, outside of the onerous flying, that it should not be disputed ? This is no different than dropping nice deadheads or other "desirable" traits framed around flying that is terrible.

The other pairing you mention is bad too, but the SIG can't fight that battle anymore, alone that is, the type of flying in pairing 121 needs to be fought from the guys flying it and pairings like it. We have a LONG history of flying stuff like this and the only thing we can do is call a spade a spade when the opportunity presents itself. ;)

If you have a question or critique with what the SIG is doing I would send them an email or call.

"That's now 2 that think so, including my 3 yr old daughter!"

Nice job Dog..now if your Hokies can knock off pretender BC on Thursday you will really rock!

Today I heard a Capt say "As a general rule people shouldn't pick up disputed pairings, but it's OK if a guy is working on his high 5".

He was dead serious.:(

Come on, please don't tell me this is even close to the general consensus among the "55 and over" crowd.

You mean the guys that don't really want the retirement we negotiated for them in the last contract? Those guys?

Say it isn't so.

And sadly, he already has a mil retirement too.

Disputed pairings

Well ... I'm impressed with "O's" email today. He says he's working to resolve these issues and flies these Airbus DP's himself. He says he intends to have other RCP's fly them also.

I really like what he's saying ... I hope he can fix them. Good for him for trying (assuming he's serious and really WANTS to fix them).

Maybe the jury is still out on the new SCP and he'll turn out to be watching out for our best interests after all. I say we give him a chance and see what he can do!

There's a reason why OR and SJ block their calendars. They don't want us to know that their diligent research on DPs is completed by a once-a-month pm out-and-back to CLT or SHV. This is pure BS by OR! If he'd unblock his calendar; he'd know we knew he didn't REALLY give a wrap about DPs. And his AirBus ACP flies a total of ONE pm out-and-back per month as well. This is just a bold-faced untruth on ORs part!
