2008 Hiring at UPS
 

There was a thread a few weeks ago stating that UPS might not hire during 2008. The realignment of the fleet and the ensuing demands on the training center were cited as reasons.

Just curious if anyone at UPS has a recap of Nov hiring. Also, any confirmation that no hiring to take place during Dec....and any word about 2008 hiring.

I think we just started a class last week, maybe they have some comments.

Heard there was a class Mid-Nov. All ANC bound. 6 MD's and 6 744's. UPS hit the hiring numbers HR wanted of around 250....with the realignment and displacement going on, I think it will be summer 08 before hiring starts again.....:mad:

Does anyone know the status of the Nov class? Just curious if it was full or not.

The newhire class that started last week was told by HR that there were to be 40 more newhires this year in Nov and Dec. All to ANC.

It's just stupid for the company to NOT train all newhires on the MD-11 or 747-400 from here on out. Everyone knows it's only a matter of time before most, if not all will be headed to ANC. I really think that's why UPS fought so hard to keep first year pay at 33/hr. They know alot of their newhires will spend more time in training than on the line.

If they stop hiring for a period of time, will they make the poolies reinterview for their job like they did in the past. Some of them that reinterviewed were NOT rehired.

To any poolie reading the above post, please disregard and reread some of his other posts. He is just trying to yank your collective chains. Why Flybycable/Freightnazi/Browntail/80for80/Ihaveapension does this is a mystery, but he likes to stir the pot.

UPS DID make poolies reinterview after the last pause in hiring. What makes you think they won't do it again?
