MAC Null setup.

Does anyone got the NULL Gouge. I'm good, but couldn't get a bud up and running.

I'm usually pretty good also, but this has been really hard. I had a jumpseater (an Airbus Capt.) give me a copy of a written gouge but using it I still don't have a complete connection. It's the best connection I've had yet. I have ...

- Unlimited Internet access using Safari

- Using Netscape Navigator (v9.0b3) I can only access pilot.fedex.com (not sure about just fedex.com?)

- AOL will not connect at all ...

So ... using 3 different browsers, I have 3 different levels of "connectability"

I've seen guys that have been able to print from their Mac laptop (using the FedEX null wireless network) directly to the printers in the AOC. Anybody know how to do that?

I'll try to contact the guy that gave me the written gouge (he said it's an A300 f/o), and see if I can contact him for more info.

I have the written gouge and my NULL network works great. I don't know how to print to the AOC printers yet but that sounds like something I'm going to work on.

If you can only get onto the FedEx network, look to see what your location is under the apple at the top left. I have to change mine to FedEx (established when I created the NULL network) everytime I'm in the AOC. I must change it back to automatic to use a different connection at a hotel. I then go under the browser options and change my proxy to the FedEx proxy server. Again, I have to change it back to auto detect when I'm done.

Sounds like a pain but it is so much better than that GRID system!

Mac plays nice with everybody; not everyone plays nice with mac.

With my trusty old PC I am able to print to any printer in the system, all you need is the IP address. :D

And yes you can sit in the AOC in MEM or on the ramp in ANC and print to a printer in IND, OAK or anywhere in the system. Why you would want to this baffles me but it can be done.

goto printer setup and add an ip printer. there is an ip address for all of the printers in aoc listed on the side of them. next select Lanier lp235c ps from the pull down menu already on the mac and the driver will be automatically installed. if you are on the null network you can print to your hearts content.

I had a small problem with my new MacBook Pro I bought last March, which led Apple to replace it with a new one. I don't have the gouge anymore either, can someone PM me the details again?

Thanks. (I should be able to translate it to Leopard.)
:)
