Practice Bid III

Anyone else get "forgotten" on this round three?
I had ANC F/O @ 100% for the 2nd practice and got it.
I change my standing bid to ANC F/O @ 70% for this round and didn't get it. After checking the award, I would have fallen right in the middle of the 60% group. What happened? Computer glitch?
I'd like to make sure I didn't mess this up and that things are set for next week. Any gouge on who I might call to see what happened?
Thanks.

Call Sam L (hubby of IOE scheduler). I'll PM you his full last name if you need it. He is great at sorting out whether it was your bid or a glitch with the bid system...and there are plenty of them when the bid input is complicated.

Was ANC FO your first choice?

Don't worry, tomorrow VIPS will modify all standing bids to HKG FO, 100%. We WILL fill the vacancies! Just kidding..I think!

There are only secondary openings in ANC for FO's. The last secondary position is in the 50% group. Everyone with less seniority got it as an excess out of Subic. If you aren't senior to #4105, that is why you didn't get it.

That's true. Very cold, dark and windy. And the commute after coming back from Asia is sure to take several years off your life.

Don't get me lying to you; however, it looks like the seat locks were finally enforced on this practice bid. I don't know if this may be your situation or not. the company's position is, "Except for HKG or CDG, To down bid, or lateral bid, you must have been activated in your current seat for 18 months as of the bid close date. (Not training expectation date, but Nov. 19th.)" So if you had finished IOE AFTER 5/18/06, they aren't letting people go to a new training event on a lateral or down bid.

If that's not the case, call in ASAP to make sure the final is right!

I don't think that's the problem. If he would fall in the middle of the 60% group (like he says) he is probably a 42xx seniority number and there are no (as in "zero") secondary awards down that low. The only people junior to 50% got the award as an excess out of Subic. My 2/100 of a dollar. Even less in Euros. ;)
Remember, even the higher secondary bids are not necessarily going to be filled. That is at the discretion of the company.
