Finally, someone turned off Fox and got it right...(hey, gotta blame someone...and in four more years, it will be someone else...if not sooner, he is the current target of the hour)

$100 a barrel oil...it going to keep on going and going and going...because now it is China and India driving that issue, not us anymore...IMHO...

More drilling in AK and Nuke power plants...even the French are total nuke for electricity now.

Happy Turkey day, now back to work!

Turn off Fox? Never.

I quit listening to any mainstream media source. The real world is far more enjoyable than listening to some lying media rat forecast doom and gloom. You would think that after the Y2K hype, two consecutive years of forecasting "The Worst Hurricane Season EVER" (have we even had one since Katrina?), and the annual "This Year's Holiday Shopping Season will be the WORST on Record" baloney, we'd all have the common sense to file all of the mainstream media away with The National Enquirer and People Magazine. Yet, when poll after poll indicates that vast majorities of Americans declare themselves satisfied with their own lives and financial state, but believe the rest of our country is either in or near a recession, you begin to realize that vast majorities of Americans still buy into the doom and gloom media hype. Why bother with facts when it is so much fun to believe that everything sucks?

Incidently, if you believed the media reporting prior to this Thanksgiving's shopping season, you would have been certain retailers were headed toward disaster. Forecasts of less than 4% growth over last year were widely quoted. As usual, the reality is far different. Current estimates indicate a record breaking 8.3% growth over last year, and headlines predicting economic collapse have been replaced by "Retailers buoyed by strong holiday start". Of course, the doom and gloom media is already forecasting that means the rest of the Holiday season will be a slow one. What a surprise.

Reminds me of the Senate Majority Leader declaring to the media a year ago that we had lost the war in Iraq. Glad our folks in uniform currently serving there have learned to ignore the media as well. Hopefully the rest of America will start to follow their lead.

Yah!! It's just as accurate as FOX to get your news, ecomomic forecasts and political pointers right here on APC!!!

Right On

Rock's post is right on! Remember that doom and gloom reporting last summer about passport delays? My daughter just received her passport after 2.5 weeks on a non-rush. How about Iraq? Very little reporting now things are trending positive.

Our nation's media conglomerates are worthless...only thing you can do is turn them off and hurt their ratings, that's we did in my house.

Next...we need to limit the presidential campaign to one month.

Just renewed my passport. Did it early so I could work on the visas. I got it back in three days.

Never believe the hype.

Dude, all this over, let's see, "turn" (1), "off" (2), "Fox" (3) and "never" (4). Yep, that's four words. And I meant it to be tongue in cheek.

Seriously, you're right. The media, and I mean all to include Fox, is a mess. I read newspapers but have gotten to the point where I take all serious (again, tongue in cheek) news reports with a grain of salt. And television journalism (there's a misnomer) is a joke for the most part. Well, except for Bill O'Reilly.

Sorry, I wasn't aiming at you. I was just bloviating in general. It's an obvious weakness of mine. I'm considering therapy.;)
