Default AOC Sleep Room Cold Showers

I have only taken a few showers in the AOC and it is nice to have those there when you need it ...but what is up with the cold water temp? The AC is on full blast back in those sleep rooms and the shower temp limit handle is set on the lowest setting. Nothing like a cold shower in a colder room to get you going at 2 in the morning!

Somehow I have managed to take scald free showers for years in hotels across the world, think we could get somebody at the AOC to bump up the temp limiters on those showers?

Last night as I stood there shivering in full on turtle mode trying to get the guts to wash with pink soap off of my head, I dreamed of the glorious old days when I could still carry my leatherman and fix this type of thing!

You need to submit an ops report--something might actually get done about it!

Those showers are only to be used if you start fantasizing about CMA2407's avatar, in one of the sleep rooms...

What? You thought you were supposed to use them for personal hygiene?

Seeing that this topic has emerged in a thread I have another shower related question. Does anyone besides me get the water torture drill at the Concorde Lafayette showers? Scalding hot to ice cold, and by the time you fight your way through to make an adjustment you are adjusting the wrong way. It seems to be less violent on the higher floors. Are they purposely harassing me or has this occurred to you?

Default Towels

While we are on the subject of the sleep room showers... what's up with the size of the towels they provide? The so called "bath" towels are the same size as the hand towels in hotels. I usually end up using about 7 or 8 of them when I take a shower. Think a multi-billion dollar company could rent a little bigger towel?

They were flown in special from a Japanese hotel

I've had the same thing happen on the last two stays there. By the way, don't even think about drinking that tap water. That hotel is either having financial problems or the owners are siphoning off all the profits. I was up in that top floor bar about a week ago after they had closed. The lights were on and the upholstery was torn and in very poor condition. Also stop one of those elevators on floor 00 some time and stick your head out and take a look.

I've only been to the Lafayette twice, and both times the shower was exactly as you described. ***?

Nice to know I'm not the only one.

I use that many to cover the filthy tile in those bathrooms. Have you looked at the grime in those tiles? My feet aren't touching that floor!

1. if you don't like taking cold showers in the AOC, don't shower there.
2. if you aren't happy with the shower temperature at the Concorde, either start it as a bath, get the water temperature the way you want it and then select "shower", or, failing that, why not take your showers down in the gym.
3. if you're not happy with the size of the towels, use a clean sheet or two.
4. it seems to me that all we do here is complain, so, I'll do a little: this being home all the time is ok, but I sure do miss weekends, holidays, vacation time, sick time, etc, etc.
