Scary Questions
When our Chief Pilot addressed our Ground School Group last week, the question was raised if we would see immediate movement to the front seats by the over 60 bunch or would there have to be a vacancy bid. He said, "I Don't Know".
The question was then asked, "if the over 60 crowd is allowed to move back without a bid, will there be any excess bids?" He said, "I don't Know".
Now, My big question, Will DW and his MEC push to bring their buddies back immediately? Will I be excessed because of it? I have VERY Little faith in them.
What Management Job do you think DW will be filling once he is voted out of office?????

Sadly, most of our union brothers here are just a bunch of paper tigers. Your reference to the recall, is a perfect example. It's very easy to get people venting here on this forum...Much more difficult to get them to actually do something. Like vote, call their rep, email their rep, sign a proxie or just stand up and say something at a meeting.
I hope things change, with this group. But, I'm not holding my breath.
And, I meant "good luck" sincerely.

But it beats the alternative. I still think the major problem we have is the LEC system. But now that Albie is beholden to all them block 2 guys that helped get him elected he is against change. We need block reps who owe their support to their block.

Good luck with that, Albie.

I don't particularly think we want to go back to FPA as ALPA has far more resources. However, we need to hold our MEC accountable for their actions--but we also have to back them up and give them the ability to negotiate on our behalf in the future.
That also means we hold the company to the contract and gripe to them via Flt Ops reports and all other contractual avenues!

I have totally lost faith in the current ALPA and MEC regimes. Good Luck Albie, I hope you can do some good.
Support is a two way street. I have been involved and was able to accomplish nothing. I give.
Can't wait for all the pleas to get involved and help fix things. They don't want it fixed, to them its not broken.
Adios.

I think age 65 has pretty much done that quite effectively. The bitterness of some isn't going ot fade in a month. This is a long term split. When it FINALLY soaks in to a guy that a 7 year captain upgrade really is a thing of the past...and that widebody upgrade is 20 years away...there are going to be some angry, bitter folks.

It wasn't really a slap at you (although I mentioned your name). I know we agree on about 87% of things. I just think that as long as seniority (or lack there of) is dilluted by the way we hold block elections nothing much will change.
