Recall Has To Be Done By Constitution/bylaws
RECALL of any elected position to this Union will have to be effected by the ALPA Constitution and ByLaws ....................... don't waste your time on a letter writing or protest signatures, use what is already in place to get the job done properly.

To change a union, you'll have to form an organizing committee; write up a constitution and rules for your interim governing body, collect a rather huge number of authorization cards (considering how many pilots we have now) and then win a NMB election by 50%+1 of the eligible voters (not 50% +1 of those who actually vote). All this takes a HUGE amount of time and effort on the organizing committee's part as well as a decent chunk of change.
To change the MEC, you have to recall and vote out the block reps for each block that you deem necessary. You'll also have to have standing to recall them. (As an LAX crew member I couldn't attempt to recall anyone other than Scott Lohman for example). You'd have to win or keep up the recall attempts until you do or you hound them out of office. Then the new MEC (composed of all those block reps) can decide if the MEC Officers should remain in office or be recalled.
The latter is far easier to do, at least for any particular block. That's not speaking to whether either alternative posed is a good idea.

Just wanted to put that in bold. When many of the tough talkers around here, and the I'm too noble to be in a union, but I'm ****ed at the union's performance jokers we have around here realize the cold, simplicity of the truth that is outlined in your statement above, we'll have something going here.
