Default FDX Wilson Polling

Got called today by Wilson polling. I don't want to get into the details of the call, but one of the questions has stuck in my mind.

The gist question was, "do you find it important for the MEC to have a consensus on voting items?"

Hmm.

If the MEC recommends a certain vote, then at least a majority of the MEC members should agree with the recommendation.

It seems a bit fishy when the entire MEC (less one), like with the LOA, is in lock-step.

Disagreement is fine and will typically make the final item stronger.

On the flip side, I don't want the MEC to be concerned about how their vote is perceived.

Of course, this blathering is not one of the answer options.

Forgive me, but my inner cynic just can't resist this one

Let me guess, the possible answers were:

Strongly agree; agree; neither agree or disagree; disagree; strongly disagree

When they should have been:

a. Only when helping Senior members
b. Only when hurting Senior members
c. When neither helping or hurting any member
d. Only when helping Junior members
e. Only when hurting Junior members
F. Only when it's the right thing to do

I too took this survey recently and was not happy with the questions or the possible answers. On some questions your only option was for Alpa or for the company.

I could already see how ALPA was going to spin the results just based on the questions that were asked and the choices I had for answers.

This survey was a joke and a waste of some more of my 2%.

I was polled too. Third poll I took in a 12 month period.

Why don't we ever get the results of the poll?

Why are we paying for these strange polls?

I love the questions--

Who do you think is more credible, the company or the MEC?

How do use the word MEC?--

A) As only the Chairman
B) The top 3 of the MEC
C) All the members of the MEC

If you had one thing to say to the MEC, would it be?

Did they happen to ask you if you thought 63% was a "slight majority", an "overwhelming majority" or just "a bunch of 2% stooge morons hoping they have input to anything having to do with ALPA business" ?????????

I screened the call. Did not bother to answer.
I would like it more if my local rep had the time to give me a call or at least send an email update more often than the company does on what is happening around here. Maybe just to busy with National....

They always ask you if you have any comments at the end. That would be a good time to express your opinion of the MEC leadership--something like I trust management as much as I trust the MEC chairman

So, what was their reaction when you answered "the company?"

I was polled by Wilson yesterday. The questions were pretty slanted, but you do get the opportunity to get your opinions across. Just a voice from the outfield from a 32%-er.

And I felt so much better after I hung up and calmed down.
