My, app is still on file. When do they dump all the apps? Do we have to fill it out again and start over because I would like to up date mine but you still can’t get into it. I know little or no hiring this year but hey what the hell you gota try anyway. TKS

Historically it's been at the beginning of the calendar year. They don't actually dump them just require updated resumes / apps after the turn of the new year. Once you are allowed to update you will see your old or older apps in the system.

The reason you probably still see your app is because we aren't hiring at the moment. I bet when there is an announcement about the window opening you will also see your app requiring attention.
Best wishes. The wait will be worth it.

Are you sure about that? I have read and heard numerous times where the system is purged at the beginning of each year. In fact, mine disappeared at the beginning of last year.

I don't remember if there was a "stop" in the hiring between resumes / years so I can't pass along words about dumping for other than my example.
Good luck, and it's worth it. I left UAL after 10 years / no furlough.

I had an app in in 2006, and another from 2007. This is my best guess, based on what they did last year.
When (if) the app window opens in 2008, attempt to reapply. If they purged the system, you will be allowed to fill out the application again. If they are still working with the old apps, you will get a message saying something along the lines of "we have saved the information you have previously submitted, thank you for your interest in UPS."

From what I can gather hiring here is a mystery even to the company. It is what it is. Don't pass up an opportunity (Air Inc) as it might just be what's needed to get you over the hump, so to speak. The IPA is going to do a presentation on manning to the company shortly which will probably show how undermanned we are which could result in the hiring spigot being turned back on. Fly safe, keep your nose clean and be prepared.

I think it is great idea that the IPA is doing this, but in my short history here, UPS will do whatever they want, ESPECIALLY if the IPA is in favor of a plan. As long as MEF continues, they will not see a problem.
