Reaching Age 60

Reaching Age 60
My new $6000 calendar says that 10 or our crewforce hit that milestone this month. One I know of is planning on rolling on in his seat (needs a few more years to hit 25, for one thing). Anyone aware of plans for the others?
Might give an idea of what the actual retire vs. stay ratio will be - albeit with a very small sample to start.

its not he guys that roll on... i's the guys in the back with over 25 years hanging on to come back .... that's going to be a big hit.
talked to one neardead and he's bidding back to the right seat of the 11, that'll make the international scheduleing fun.

In the big picture of seat progression, it's going to be the guys under 60 that stay until 65, not the over 60 crowd, that will slow things down if you are junior. The number of guys on panel that will be able to come back (I don't think the company will train guys over 63) is going to be small compared to the number of guys that will stay for at least a few years past 60. That's the view from the right seat after 6+ years IMHO. I could be wrong..it wouldn't be the first time.

You are correct IMHO.
The over 60 guys just make better press, but their numbers are really small. Hopefully the guys close to 60 have retirement plans and they will go, but as the years pass fewer guys will plan to go at 60 and will plan to hang on. Hopefully most will move on and enjoy their retirement plans.
The fast healing GC will be in the minority I hope. Most guys have lives away from FedEx, or I hope they do.

Kinda like dues payment. Don't notice it when it automatically comes out of the paycheck. Sure notice it if having to write a check!
