Default FDX MD 11 Captains fill every DP

There are some truly rough MEM trips, but the greed is on full display for everyone to see. No wonder 200% worked. The Captains set the tone. Leadership by example, blah blah blah. I got mine. At least there is still a little hope from the FOs .

It is really a sad statement. Kinda makes you want to throw in the towel. I doubt that we (as a union) will ever be able to accomplish anything against the company. Just turn the sodomizer full up now instead of just prolonging the pain (max sarcasm)

Last month some of the guys linked each filled DP trip on to the DP thread here on the board. A great tool, I used it to check and see who'd flying DP's. Easy way to keep up with who's being stupid.

I talked two Capts that I know that are on DPs. Both admitted they royally screwed up in the frenzy and grabbed them.

One of the guys, in the end, wrote up a very good letter to the SIG, and cc'd me, about exactly how this trip went and how bad it was! While its no excuse to be picking up trips - no matter how nice the double DH is, and especially for Capts that have been here long enough to know better - he at least redeemed himself a bit and provided the much requested and much lacking feedback the SIG has asked for!

With multiple opportunities to protect ourselves from grabbing DPs - SIG letter, msg line, ALPA calendar with space to write DPs, bidding and trip trading software to highlight (or is it lowlight?) DPs, this msg board - the excuses are getting weaker and weaker to the point that there really are no excuses anymore!

When you see one of your bubbas on a DP, just send him/her a note in a non-threatening email asking, (or ask them in person), using your best CRM typing skills, "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over!"

Sorry Dog. IMO the only way to redeem yourself after picking up a DP is to drop it. Then all is forgiven and there is a lesson learned. If it gets flown, it is at a huge cost to the crewforce. And to answer the impending question, no I don't care if he loses pay because he drops it, it was his mistake.

While I agree, he didn't not learn he had a DP until he was already on it (blame me for not emailing him earlier?). Otherwise, I agree 100%!

I don't buy it either. Not to call your friend a liar, but I can't believe he went that long not realizing it was a dp.

No...not your fault...it is not your responsibility to inform him he had one....it is his responsibiloity for not doing it in the first place...you were doing him a courtesy b y holding him accountable.

Perhaps we should have an "alpa coin" he can put in his pocket and whenever he feels the need to pick up a DP, he can call hils "sponsor" and the sponsor can "talk him down"...12 step DP program.

There is a spot on the ALPA calendar to write down DP's every month.
