FDX: Feb08 Disputed Pairings- NONE!

ALPA's founders chose "Schedule with Safety" as our motto. The SIG/PSIT is Scheduling for OUR Safety !!

The SIG/PSIT is to be congratulated for this month's accomplishment.

Begin SIG Notes
================

This is the first bid period in many months in which there was not a single disputed pairing across all bid packs. The SIG/PSIT identified numerous pairings involving facilities issues, fatigue issues and deadhead/ground transportations issues. A number of issues were resolved through pairing repair by management and we greatly appreciate their shared concern on these issues.

BLG averages are at historical lows in a number of seats. Indications from management are that lower BLG’s, along with the contractual use of the “buy-up” program in which some lines are built below the minimum contractual BLG level and bought up to the minimum in contractual line value, and varying BLGs between seats, will continue.

Disputed Pairings
There are no disputed pairings this month.

CDG-STN-MEM Dispute resolution: For the past several months the SIG has disputed RFO pairings involving the CDG-STN-MEM flight sequence. The pairings were disputed because the PSIT felt this was an improper use of an RFO. After reviewing the merits of the pairing carefully, ALPA SIG decided to withdraw this dispute with an agreement from management for a new soft parameter:

“For 3 man crews an RFO will not be used to extend duty through a sort facility unless the turn through that facility is 1:30 or less, in which case it may still be reviewed for possible dispute on the merits of the new pairing.”

Although a moot point this month, the Disputed Pairs file for the Automatic DP feature in MagicWebFX is ready for download for those using Version 1.51 thru 1.53 (free and paid versions). Just check the "Update DPs before download" box.

It's a moo point. Like a cow's opinion, it doesn't matter.

FlybyKnite 01-18-2008 07:00 PM

Yep-- definitely a MOOT point :o.

Overnitefr8 01-18-2008 07:34 PM

It's really because they have been flown so often that they can't dispute them anymore. :(

Okay, I'll throw it out there... how about, nice job SIG.

According to Joey on Friends, it was a 'moo' point.

Concur--lots of hard work to help us all out. Now, all you DP fliers out there (from previous months), rest easy....no need to sweat phone calls or annoying e-mails when you hose your bros!

NICE JOB PSIT!! Your efforts are applauded. I will however continue to e-mail notes on shady pairings and rest issues that I encounter and the rest of us should do the same. Hopefully my opinions have mattered.

Thanks again guys.........
