I hope so, and am not stressing. 3 things: Lack of retirements this year from left seat, the approx 70 crewmembers senior to me in all seats on the classic 74 that would be able to bid Capt. and the anticipated decrease in DC-8 crews that leaves me in the possible scenario. Hopefully, the new aircraft deliveries will help everyone positively and the 10+ senior F/O's on the 74 decide to stay Professional First Officers (PFO's) <g>

Check Reference Seniority List 07-202. I think there are only 50 classic 74 senior to you (32 CA, 7 FO, and 11 upgradeable FE's) and about 56 Captains junior to you in SDF domiciles.

An FO (not on probation) displaced from the lower 48 could displace a junior ANC FO or downgrade to FE. However, if you are already in ANC, you would have to be on the bottom of the ANC seniority list to get displaced and downgraded, I think. Also, aren't all the bottom ANC FO's on probation? If on probation, doesn't the company just place you where they want to? In that case, UPS could take preferences for those that would rather go to SDF FE than stay as ANC FO.

Very true but what boggles me is that it sounds like you got some crazy break or breaks and you can come on here and say what people "should" have for time? A little ballzy if you ask me seeing it sounds like you wouldn't be competitive right now.

Cuz they can't live within their means?????

Cuz they just can't let go of that 3rd vacation home???

Cuz they just can't sell the 2nd airplane????

True to all of that. (you always leave out "too many ex-husbands" for some reason - remember greed does not discriminate! ).

My question was actually - why would some of the over 60 guys choose the right seat over the left seat?

1. Not enough left seats in bid.

2. Don't want to be locked in the seat while waiting for a CA vacancy elsewhere.

3. Better quality of life at less pay.

Never underestimate the power of greed. It is a serious motivator.

Am I obnoxious because I speak the truth or because you don't want to read it? The curious thing is how chatty you are here but didn't answer my questions on the UPS-Any speculation???? thread.
