Sorry that sounded kind of sarcastic. I do mean if you can make a go of it in KIX with a base of 30K plus the international override and international per diem then it could be a good opportunity. If we get any more flights from ANA we will need more captains and that is a very real possibility.

Trying to make it on 30k over there is nearly impossible from what I've heard...I also would not endear myself to my squadron commander if I took a 2 year leave of absence...last but not least, there is no contract or anything set in stone at ABX, you are taking the company at their word, which hasn't been very good of late (or so it seems from the outside)...and if there is not slot for you back in the US, 2 years becomes 4 and I don't speak any Japanese.

At the moment, given the judge's ruling on the union's TRO seeking to halt the KIX domicile it would be fair to say the current CBA governs. The union still feels this is incorrect, and may appeal. If the current CBA governs, you will be the among the most junior F/O's on the ABX seniority list, which in turn means that if the ANA gig goes away and there is no one junior to you in either ILN or MIA you will be on the street. Finally, if the DHL ACMI goes sour for ABX, at least some of the current 500+ ABX pilots might wish to stay employed, even if it meant going to Japan. They would be senior to you.
