Fedex
I have a couple of questions for any Fedex pilot.
1. Do you have to live in MEM to fly for Fedex? 2. The minimums say 1500 fixed wing TT pic or sic is that relevent? I am a young pilot with about 250 hours and I think Fedex is where I want to go. My roomates dad in college is high up in Fedex (non flight). Would it be good to get him to walk my resume in the door when i get the minimums? Thanks Colin ;) |

You also have to have 1000 hours of PIC time in turbo-jet or jet aircraft. The minimums have got to be met. And probably exceeded. I don't know of anyone that's been hired recently with just the minimums. Most exceed them by far. Is that what you want to know? You also need personal recommendations from line pilots. Unless your Dad's roommate is one of the very senior management types it probably won't help a lot to have him and only him offer a recommendation. The chief pilot places a lot of emphasis on the recommendation policy and isn't inclined to waver from his position. But having written all of this, you're way ahead of yourself. It'll take you quite a long time before you meet even the minimum quals. And my guess is that a lot will change between now and then. Good luck! |
